Single person discount

You can claim single person discount if you are the only person over 18 in your home, or the only person over 18 who is counted for council tax purposes (see below for further information). We mean your main home, where you live. You can't get a single person discount for a second home.

Single person discount reduces your bill by 25%.

Certain people can be disregarded for council tax purposes when counting how many adults occupy the property as their sole or main residence.

You will also need to provide supporting documents before we can grant certain discounts.
