Homelessness - Mental Health

Early Action

The Council’s Housing Options team will try to ensure housing problems are dealt with early to prevent you from becoming homeless. This can be achieved through working with other agencies where possible to prevent you from becoming homeless.

Priority Need

People with a mental health problem may be accepted by the council as vulnerable and therefore in “priority need” for accommodation. This will be determined by personal circumstances.

Personal Housing Plan

The Housing Options team will continuously review the advice and advocacy services available to you and will see what outreach support services you may need through the Personal Housing Plan.  This Plan will be completed in partnership with you and anyone you ask to help you.

Specialists

The Housing Options team will attempt to provide you with access to mainstream healthcare services.
