Pre-application Advice
The pre application and enquiry service has TEMPORARILY been SUSPENDED due to the high volume of applications we are receiving. Pre applications for major and strategic developments will continue to be accepted.

Alternatively you can submit a certificate of lawfulness application.
Before making a request for pre-application advice it is advisable to check whether planning permission is required.
If you wish to take advantage of our pre-application advice service, simply fill out the pre-application advice form and email it together with your supporting plans, photos etc. to dcsupport@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk and pay the appropriate fee. Due to current the Covid situation it would be extremely helpful to send as many photographs as possible to replace the need for a site visit, where a site visit is required this will be unaccompanied unless the service has been paid for. The fee can be paid by:
Submitting a cheque to East Staffordshire Borough Council, PO Box 8045, Burton upon Trent, DE14 9JG or alternatively you can pay by BACS, please email dcsupport@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk if you require the bank account number and sort code.
Card payments are not currently being taken. Card payments are normally paid over the telephone or at the Burton or Uttoxeter Customer Service Centre however our Customer Service Centres are currently closed.
