Last week’s jobs fair held at Burton and South Derbyshire College has been hailed a great success. The fair welcomed 729 jobseekers across East Staffordshire, putting them in touch with 43 diverse employers from across the borough.

Uttoxeter residents are being encouraged to Go Garden in 2018, as East Staffordshire Borough Council aims to build on the success of the gardening project located at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.

Councillor Simon Gaskin, Mayor of East Staffordshire, joined other Lord Mayors and Mayors, Lord Provosts, town and parish councils, local authorities and local communities in flying the flag for the Commonwealth on Monday 12th March 2018 outside Burton Town Hall.

Burton Market Hall will host its next craft market on Saturday 24th March and the market place venue is on the lookout for local crafters to trade at the event, with pop up stalls available on the day for just £12.

The latest Medium Term Financial Strategy, which covers the period 2018/19 to 2021/2022, was approved by members at the Full Council meeting held on Monday 26th February.

Some residents in the Borough will experience a change to their waste collection day from Monday 5th March when East Staffordshire Borough Council rolls out its updated service.

In line with new government regulations, National Planning Applications Fees will increase by 20% as of 17th January 2018.
