Coronavirus Testing

Testing for people with symptoms

If you have any of the following symptoms of coronavirus:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Or if you're asked to by NHS Test and Trace, you must isolate immediately, book a coronavirus test online or by ringing 119, and remain in isolation until you receive your test result.

Testing for people with coronavirus symptoms is available at Meadowside Drive Car Park 7 days a week.

This is part of the national system and must be booked online, calling 119 in advance or through the NHS COVID-19 app.

Testing for people without symptoms

Residents who need to be out and about in Staffordshire during the lockdown are being urged to have regular COVID-19 tests, even if they don’t have symptoms.

If you do need to go out for work, shopping or to care for someone then do get tested. It is quick, easy and might just save the life of someone you care for.

Community Testing

The community testing will be using the new rapid flow tests, which can provide results in around 20-30 minutes, helping to quickly identify people who have the virus but may have no symptoms.

In East Staffordshire, community testing for people without symptoms is taking place at, Hillfield House, Hillfield Lane, Burton upon Trent, DE13 OBW.

Pop-up community testing

This centre will be supported by pop-up testing sites.

Places need to be booked in advance through Staffordshire County County’s portal. You can book a test only if you have no symptoms

Mobile Testing Units

There are two mobile testing units which tour the county and provide testing for people with symptoms.

Check when the mobile testing units are next in East Staffordshire.

Tests must be booked through the national portal.
