The Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton upon Trent and the Uttoxeter Leisure Centre both include a fully accessible “Changing Places” toilet and changing facility.
Some standard disabled toilets do not meet the needs of all people with a disability, or their carers. Changing Places toilets are different to standard disabled toilets as they have extra features and more space. These facilities make the Meadowside and Uttoxeter Leisure Centres more accessible for people with disabilities.
The Changing Places Consortium has launched a campaign on behalf of people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers, as well as many other disabled people.
