Countdown to The Queen’s Baton Relay’s Visit to East Staffordshire

With only two weeks left until The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay makes its way through the borough, East Staffordshire Borough Council are encouraging people to join us in cheering on the Batonbearers.

Birmingham 2022 is currently hosting the 16th annual Queen’s Baton Relay which has so far seen thousands of Batonbearers, all with inspirational stories and backgrounds, carry the Baton across the world.

During its time in East Staffordshire, the Queen’s Baton Relay will visit Uttoxeter Leisure Centre, Bramshall Park and St. George’s Park, bringing with it a fantastic day of activities and photo opportunities. The schedule of activity for the Baton’s time in East Staffordshire includes:

•    8:00am, Wednesday 20th July 2022 we welcome the Queen’s Baton Relay into the area, arriving at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.
•    8:10am, the Queen’s Baton Relay will pass through Bramshall Park, Uttoxeter, where the public can come and attend to see the Baton make its journey through.
•    9:00am, an event will take place at St. George’s Park throughout the morning, including a school’s football celebration, with the Queen’s Baton Relay then continuing its route around the facility, including a stop at the Arthur Wharton statue. Please note that this event is not open to the public.
•    Parking arrangements are as follows for Uttoxeter:
o    Bramshall Park car park will NOT be open
o    Fair Field Road Car Park (ST14 7JY), 
o    The Maltings (Silver Street, ST14 7QE) 
o    Oldfields Hall Middle School Car Park (105 Stone Road, ST14 7PL).
o    Uttoxeter Leisure Centre (Oldfields Road, Uttoxeter, ST14 7QL). Please be aware that parking at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre will be limited, as such we suggest visitors use the other car parks listed.
