New Initiative Offers East Staffordshire Residents Free Home Upgrades to Cut Energy Bills

Last autumn saw a new £10.5 million initiative launched to help East Staffordshire residents save on energy bills through home improvements.

Government-funded insulation, heating systems, and solar panels will be installed free of charge for eligible residents through the Staffordshire Warmer Homes partnership and their delivery partner Community Home Solutions.

The initiative focuses on installing green energy solutions in homes which do not use gas as their main heating source and have an energy performance rating of D-G.

You may qualify for support if:

  • Your property is off-gas
  • You have a household income of below £31,000 per year
  • Or you claim a means-tested benefit

Over 1,300 homes across Staffordshire have already benefited from energy upgrades since 2019, increasing efficiency and lowering heating bills.

To find out more information about the scheme and to apply online visit: www.staffordshirewarmerhomes.co.uk or call Community Home Solutions on 0115 718 1822.

Please note that, under the current project, households will only be eligible for solar panels alongside other insulation measures.

Cllr Simon Slater, Cabinet Member for Communities and Regulatory Services, said: “It is great to see East Staffordshire homes being offered such useful heating and energy solutions, during a time in which many are looking at ways to save money. I encourage East Staffordshire residents to find out what support is available through the Staffordshire Warmer Homes partnership and find out if they are eligible.”
