East Staffordshire Borough Council has successfully prosecuted a previous Burton based business owner after a local business was found to be trading without a premises licence.

The Mayor of East Staffordshire, Councillor Colin Wileman, is to fly the Red Ensign at Burton Town Hall to mark the fourth “Fly the Red Ensign for Merchant Navy Day”.

The Flag hoisting ceremony is to say ‘thank you seafarers’ on Merchant Navy Day, 3rd September.

A series of unannounced inspections took place in Uttoxeter last month, as officers from East Staffordshire Borough Council, Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire Police inspected a number of licenced premises in and around Uttoxeter Town Centre.

In June, Burton Market Hall hosted its very first Young Trader Market, as part of a national campaign organised by the National Market Traders Federation, to encourage more young market traders.
